The January 6th Committee hearings are about accountability for a brazen attempt to violently overthrow the 2020 election. Our nation must identify and prosecute all those who actively worked to tear down the government on January 6th. They are going to try again in 2024 and we must do all we can to stop them now.

The hearings will show our nation at an historic juncture. Every single American needs to decide which side they’re on. Are you on the side of the seditionists who tried to tear down a free and fair election, or do you support our Republic and its democratic principles?

The conspiracy runs from the Oval Office to the Capitol mob. Donald Trump, his senior staff, his legal team, and his media enablers all wanted January 6th to turn out exactly the way it did. They wanted a violent political attack to stop the certification of the 2020 election. These hearings are to get the truth, and to hold them to account.

Many of the Republican elected officials today screaming that these hearings are a sham or a witch hunt stood on the Capitol floor and condemned Trump’s incitement. Were they lying then or are they lying now?

This is the most serious attempt to break the nation since the Civil War. The people who planned and executed January 6th are beyond your typical crooked politicians – they are out to destroy our nation’s very soul. They wanted to disenfranchise millions of American votes — particularly African American votes in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

January 6th was not a one day event. It was the starting point of a larger movement active in our local communities all over the country. They are rolling back civil liberties by making it harder to vote and creating ways to stop people’s votes from mattering.

No one should be surprised that FOX News refuses to cover the hearings since they aren’t a serious news channel. Their own lawyers concede Tucker Carlson engages in ‘non-literal commentary’, and cannot be taken seriously.

FOX literally cannot afford to have its viewers realize the truth about January 6th: that it was sedition. If their viewers learned the hard truth, the fog would lift and they would see that FOX News promotes the Big Lie to increase ratings and make money off their viewers’ ignorance.

On January 6th, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Briam Kilmeade all tried to get Donald Trump to call off the protesters. They knew then and they know now, that the attack on the Capitol was done by Trump supporters and was not an act of patriotism, but a crime of sedition.
What to watch for

Be on the lookout for how everyone turned on Donald Trump on the most important day of his life: Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity, Brian Kilmeade and even his own son, Don Jr.! They all contacted Mark Meadows to try to get him to stop the attack on the Capitol.

Look for more revelations about what Kevin McCarthy was doing that day. We already know from his own voice he wanted Trump to resign and thought he bore responsibility for the attack. Will he continue to be Trump’s man in the House when confronted with more facts about the planning and execution of January 6th?

Keep an eye on Elise Stefanik’s media blitz during the hearings. She could use this moment to try to take Kevin McCarthy down and get herself in position to be Speaker of the House.

Watch closely those politicians who don’t really believe in the Big Lie and only supported Donald Trump because it was politically expedient. Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Tom Cotton, and Mike Pompeo all want to be President. Will they continue to hold Trump’s hand as more revelations come, or will they use this as an opportunity to break-up with Trump?
