Trump in German: Sounds Like History Repeating Itself
October 27, 2024 —As Trump hosts his ‘Homage To Hitler’ rally at Madison Square Garden today, the Lincoln Project’s new ad dubs real Trump remarks into German over Nazi footage. Trump’s racist, dictatorial language would fit right in with the Nazis of 1930’s Germany.

“Trump idolizes dictators notorious for their cruelty. It is terrifying watching history rhyme in less than a century,” said Ryan Wiggins, Lincoln Project Chief Of Staff. She continued, “This ad reminds us the language Trump is using has been heard before and should scare anyone on the fence about Donald Trump. Fear and violence will be features of a Trump administration as he promises to rule like a dictator, concerned only about his own wealth, power, and well-being. Harris is the only choice if American democracy is to survive.”
Lincoln Project counter programming Trump:
The ad will be shown on a mobile billboard truck circling the venue that will run a selection of ads reminding people of the serious danger facing America if Trump is reelected. Another truck will troll the “dads, Brads, and Chads” attending the hate rally blasting Taylor Swift music that supports inclusion, women, girl power, and the LGBTQ+ community.
Additionally, LP is counter programming Trump’s rally by way of a virtual town hall: “A Night at the Garden: Trump’s Fascist Final Message”. The distinguished group of speakers include:
-
Stuart Stevens, Lincoln Project Senior Advisor
-
Marshall Curry, Academy Award Winning director of “A Night At The Garden” about the 1938 Nazi rally
-
Dr. Jennifer Mercieca, Prof. of Communication & Journalism at Texas A&M University
-
Dr. Deborah Cohen, Dir. of the Northwestern University Buffett Institute for Global Affairs
-
Dr. Peter Simi, Prof. of Sociology at Chapman University
The town hall begins at 7 PM and can be watched online here. Marshall Curry’s “A Night At The Garden” will be shown as well.
