THE LINCOLN PROJECT’S NEW AD HIGHLIGHTS THE GRIM REALITY OF TODAY’S GOP CANDIDATES

August 29, 2022 — The Lincoln Project released a new ad today telling undecided voters that by voting for ultra-MAGA candidates, they’re willing to destroy what was left of the traditional GOP that was rooted in individual liberty and the rule-of-law.

The ad shows how the new GOP wants the government to spy on bedrooms, root through bank accounts, eliminate privacy and rewrite the Constitution. It goes on to show how the ultra-MAGA is placing bounties on our daughters, raising the cost of health care, and screwing veterans out of promised health benefits.

In a push to appeal to women and conservative voters who do not want to associate with ultra-MAGAs, different versions of the ad will highlight state specific candidates. It will run in Pennsylvania and feature Doug Mastriano; in Arizona with Kari Lake; Wisconsin with Tim Michels; and in Texas with Greg Abbott.

“Today’s GOP no longer represents traditional conservative values and instead fights a culture war empowering the absolute worst impulses and conspiracies of the ultra-MAGA,” said Reed Galen, co-founder of The Lincoln Project. “They will establish a regime committed to authoritarianism, roll-back individual rights and destroy dissent. Americans must see the GOP for what they are and vote to keep America’s democratic ideals.”
