THE LINCOLN PROJECT WINS TWO WEBBY AWARDS

April 25, 2023
The Lincoln Project is proud to announce it won two Webby Awards for its work to bring attention to rising antisemitism in the United States, and for a campaign to build support for the Ukrainian fight for freedom.

“It’s a great honor to be recognized with two Webby Awards,” said Rick Wilson, co-founder of The Lincoln Project. “This was only possible because of the backing and generosity of our wonderful followers. They are the reason we do this everyday, and we are so very grateful they have joined with us in the movement. These awards will only encourage us as we continue our mission to protect democracy heading into 2024.”

The Lincoln Project won both awards in the People’s Voice category. The first for its campaign supporting the Ukrainian war effort in the category of Social – Social Content Series News & Politics. In a series of ads titled, ‘Ukraine: Fighting For Democracy At Home and Abroad,’ The Lincoln Project educated the American public about the threat using language and visuals to evoke the Cold War dangers that Baby Boomer and Generation X voters recall, and illustrate the ongoing threat of Russia authoritarianism and aggression. In the final weeks of the 2022 Midterms, our ad “Ukraine” successfully moved swing voters in key states and was served nearly 10 million times.

The Lincoln Project also received an award for the ad, ‘Never Again: Honoring International Holocaust Remembrance Day’, as part of the Video – General Video News & Politics category. Antisemitism and antisemitic violence is rising in the United States and it once again presents an extraordinary danger to Jewish Americans and Jewish people around the world. The Lincoln Project released this ad on International Holocaust Remembrance Day to show the horrors of the genocide with a clear, sharp message: Never Again means Never Again. Narrated by Peter Coyote, the video is powerful, evocative, and clear, delivering a hard and necessary message in the ongoing and vital fight against antisemitism.

The Webby Awards are the prestigious international awards to celebrate excellence on the Internet, presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS).

The Lincoln Project is a leading pro-democracy organization in the United States — dedicated to the preservation, protection, and defense of democracy.
