The Lincoln Project: This Election is a Choice: Your Country or Your Party

November 3, 2022 — In its closing ad of the 2022 cycle, The Lincoln Project asks voters a simple question: On Tuesday, will they stand with their country or their party? Voters must decide whether they cherish America’s tradition of a peaceful political process admired the world over, or the MAGA Republican Party that is now controlled by nationalists, extremists and violent domestic terror groups.

In 2020, Republican voters chose Joe Biden because they saw the threat posed by another four years of Donald Trump and his MAGA supporters. MAGA is now firmly in control of the party and voting this year for a Republican candidate is a vote in favor of its un-American agenda to roll back civil liberties, and destroy our democratic institutions.

You can watch the ad here. It will run digitally to critical swing voters nationwide.

“Americans going to the polls know there is only one pro-democracy party left in this country, and they must vote on something more fundamental than policy: democracy itself,” said Reed Galen, co-founder of The Lincoln Project. “The Republican Party is controlled by Donald Trump and his Ultra-MAGA supporters who tell us they’ll overturn elections and encourage political violence. The simple choice is to vote either for Democrats who respect the rule of law and want to support our republic and its democratic system of government, or vote for the MAGA GOP hell-bent on destroying nearly 250 years of American exceptionalism. It can happen here. Protecting our democracy needs to be the first, last, and only issue in this election.”

The Lincoln Project is a leading pro-democracy organization in the United States — dedicated to the preservation, protection, and defense of democracy.
