THE LINCOLN PROJECT TELLS VOTERS ABOUT DESANTIS’ MOVE TOWARDS TYRANNY  

October 24, 2022 — In a new ad, The Lincoln Project tells Florida voters how Ron DeSantis is moving the state into tyranny, so he can hold onto power and raise his profile nationally.

DeSantis is proudly restricting the rights of voters, recently making a political show of arresting individuals who wrongly registered to vote despite being told by the government they were allowed. Next, he used the hurricane as an excuse to make it easier for people to vote in Republican counties loyal to him while ignoring Democratic counties that were also affected.

You can watch the ad here. The digital buy will target the I-4 corridor, the Cuban community, the Republican establishment in Tallahassee and the DeSantis’s hometown of Jacksonville.

“DeSantis is a power-hungry egomaniac who’s restricting the rights of individuals to further his own political ambitions,” said Rick Wilson, co-founder of The Lincoln Project. “He is favoring one set of citizens while punishing another simply because they are of a different political party. This is an un-American breach of the public trust that is dangerous to democracy. DeSantis is actively destroying our democratic institutions and must be defeated in November.”
