THE LINCOLN PROJECT TELLS GREG ABBOTT IT’S TIME TO RETIRE

June 7, 2022 — In government since the 1990s, Greg Abbott is out of ideas, The Lincoln Project said in an ad released today. His legacy as governor is clear: a power grid that fails when it’s too cold and when it’s too warm, a ‘border security’ gimmick that cost Texans hundreds of millions of dollars, more deaths from mass shootings than any other governor in state history, and rape victims left with less rights than their rapists.

“It’s time for Greg Abbott to go,” said Reed Galen, Co-founder of The Lincoln Project. “Instead of fixing and stabilizing the Texas power grid, he gave away billions to his donors and passed along the costs to Texans. He pretended to ‘fix’ the border by creating massive traffic jams and driving up prices for consumers. In the face of the incalculable tragedy in Uvalde, Abbott could only come up with, ‘it could have been worse’. Texas needs new leadership – now.”
