August 22, 2022 — In a new ad released today, The Lincoln Project shows Arizona the reality of Kari Lake’s plan to “fire” the federal government if elected governor.

In one of the most extreme and bizarre policy positions by a GOP candidate this year, Lake proves she has absolutely zero understanding of how government works. Her policy would crush Arizona’s economy, raise taxes, and make the state less safe.

Social Security and Medicare would be eliminated. All the military bases would close – including Luke Air Force base. There would be no one catching drug lords since the DEA would be kicked out of the state. Every single service provided by the federal government would go missing overnight.
