Lt. Colonel Alexander Vindman upheld his oath to the Constitution, Donald Trump has not.
WASHINGTON, DC US, February 14, 2020 – Today, The Lincoln Project released its fifth digital video, “Telling the Truth” depicting President Donald Trump’s vindictive and retributive campaign against Lt. Col. Alexander S. Vindman, a decorated war veteran and American patriot.
“Unlike Donald Trump who shirked any military duty because of his spurious ‘bone spurs,’ Lt. Col. Vindman volunteered to serve in our military with honor and integrity,” said Jennifer Horn, spokesperson for The Lincoln Project.
“Now, Trump, who is afraid of those who know the truth and those who comply with the law, is unleashing a tyrannical assault on Lt. Col. Vindman and highly-decorated American patriots and servicemembers who stand tall and speak the truth. This is another glaring and sad moment in the Trump presidency that shows why he is unfit to serve as Commander-in-Chief.”
In 2019, Lt. Col. Vindman, who was assigned to the White House’s National Security Council, complied with a federal subpoena and testified during the U.S. House of Representatives’ impeachment inquiry against President Trump. In his testimony, Lt. Col. Vindman discussed what he heard on Trump’s call with Ukraine’s President Zelenskyy. Vindman concluded, “I did not think it was proper to demand that a foreign government investigate a U.S. citizen, and I was worried about the implications for the U.S. government’s support of Ukraine.” Since then, President Trump has repeatedly attacked Lt. Col. Vindman and his valiant service to the United States.
The Lincoln Project is working to defeat Donald Trump and those candidates who have abandoned their constitutional oaths, regardless of party.
