The Lincoln Project reminds the country that this week the virus is still spreading. And while millions of Americans are in crisis, President Trump is denying and deflecting.
Mon., May 18, 2020-The Lincoln Project released a new ad today, “This Week.” The ad highlights a horrific truth in America — this week will be worse than the last: thousands will die, millions will become unemployed, and more small businesses will collapse — all due to the failure in leadership from President Donald J. Trump during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This Week” is an ad highlighting the wreckage from Trump’s response to the coronavirus. It will air in the D.C area starting today.
Lincoln Project co-founder Jennifer Horn said: “Trump put his political ambitions before the health, safety, and economic security of the American people. Due to his utter failure in response to the coronavirus pandemic, Americans are now sicker, poorer and worse off than they were four years ago. If there is one thing we can count on in the coming weeks it’s that Donald Trump will continue to fail and embarrass the people he is elected to serve.”
The first case of coronavirus in America was reported in January, 2020. It has since spread to every state and jurisdiction, infecting more than 1.4 million and killing nearly 90,000 people.
