“Donald Trump is no victim. As much as he spins, bloviates and berates, he will always be the first President ever charged with a felony. His legacy will always be criminality, violence and hate.

“Tonight at Mar-A-Lago we saw a paranoid and delusional speech cheered on by fanatical cult members who do not care about democracy and American values. Trump got the circus he wanted. The rest of the GOP has fallen in line.

“Donald Trump is the Republican Party. He and his extremist allies like Majorie Taylor Greene, Kevin McCarthy, and Elise Stefanik, spent the last week doing everything they could to undermine the Rule of Law in America. From lies about the case to personal threats against the prosecutor, the judge and his family, they are once again showing us they care about nothing more than their own personal power and celebrity.

“While Donald Trump has driven shame out of American politics, character still matters. Alvin Bragg shows that he has it and is determined to ensure that America lives up to its founding that no one is above the law. After nearly eight years, the choice remains the same: America or Trump.”
