Oscar Winner New Short Film Highlights Parents Fighting to Preserve the ACA
October 24, 2024 —Oscar Award Winner Marshall Curry has produced “The Act Of Caring,” a moving short film that profiles a North Carolina family for whom the Affordable Care Act (ACA) saved their twins lives. As Republicans schemed to repeal the law, courageous parents took their children to Washington D.C. to fight for the right to affordable health care.
The film is part of a short film series from The Lincoln Project in partnership with Democracy2025, that examines the emotional and physical toll that governmental policy can have on individuals and families.
