AS INSURANCE PRICES RISE, DESANTIS IS DOING EVERYTHING BUT HELPING

October 14, 2022 — In a new ad today, The Lincoln Project tells voters Ron DeSantis is ignoring their rising storm insurance costs because he’d rather run for President than govern the state. Instead of protecting the homes and dreams of Florida residents, DeSantis is fundraising, attacking Florida corporations, and pulling cruel campaign stunts. He isn’t interested in leading or helping his constituents.

The ad can be seen here. The ad will digitally target the I-4 corridor, Venezuelan and Cuban voters in South Florida, Disney workers near Orlando, and pro-choice women 18-35 in homes that get their news from right-wing media. Also, Trump/Biden, Trump/Nelson and DeSantis/Biden crossover voters.

“Florida residents are getting hammered by the rising cost of insurance, and in the middle of hurricane season DeSantis is trying to create national headlines for his Presidential run rather than finding ways to help residents who can’t afford to protect their homes,” said Reed Galen, co-founder of the Lincoln Project. “DeSantis is a callous man who’s idea of public service is using the goverorship as a stepping stone to the Presidency. He wants nothing to do with solving the problems of Floridians.”
