Arizona’s Choice: Authoritarianism or Protecting Liberty

October 17, 2022 — In a new ad today, The Lincoln Project contrasts the two competing tickets in Arizona and their vision for the state and the country. The GOP promotes wild conspiracies, politicizes the military, and wants to kick the federal government out of the state leading to the end of Social Security and Medicare.

On the other side are the Democrats – who want women to have the freedom to make healthcare choices without government intervention, support the military, and represent mainstream American values. The choice is clear for Arizonians: Autocracy and crazy policies that will upend how we live, versus steady leadership that gets the job done.

The ad can be seen here. The ad will digitally target Maricopa County; Moderate men between 40-60 with daughters of college age; Independents who re-registered from GOP after January 6; Moderate federal employees; Moderate undecided seniors concerned about Social Security/Medicare; Moderate female veterans.

“The GOP ticket is a bottomless pit of authoritarian, election-denying, ultra-MAGA conspiracy theorists only interested in obtaining power. They’re unserious, unprepared and unworthy for high office,” said Reed Galen, co-founder of The Lincoln Project. “The Democratic ticket will protect individual liberties and work towards the betterment of our nation. Every Arizonian who loves democracy needs to vote Democrat this year.”
