MAGA Makes the Message Crystal Clear
Of course the media is focused on the GOP presidential primary. It’s hard to look away. Trump’s stomping his way to the nomination and nobody else is even trying to challenge him.
Did you see the cartwheels Tim Scott and Mike Pence did to avoid criticizing Trump for January 6th? The sheer lengths these guys will go to not tick off the MAGA crowd. Nothing surprises me anymore.
But take a break from the GOP primary for a moment and focus on the MAGA insanity in the House. Just you wait. Impeachment? Hunter Biden conspiracies? A government shutdown? As Rick likes to say, “they’ll make the Benghazi hearings look like a sewing circle.”
Now, you’ve heard me say this before: Let MAGA do the crazy, and we do the work. Well, I’m going to amend that for what’s about to come out of the House. Let MAGA do the deeply unpopular crazy, and we’ll do the work by focusing on the real, tangible improvements President Biden has made for millions of Americans.
Yes it is less catchy. But it sums up one of the key messaging battles that’s going to define 2024. And once again we are on the right side of it.
Here are some of the policies they’re focusing on:
- Denying reproductive health access to veterans
- Reducing SNAP benefits for working-class families.
- Barring people who were brought to the country as immigrant children from applying for federal government jobs.
- Cutting military support for Ukraine and handing Putin a victory
I could go on. These are some of the least popular policies period. And yet, these ultra-MAGAs insist on tying their party to it. It’s because their agenda is controlled by Marjorie Taylor Greene, Jim Jordan, and whatever nonsense Steve Bannon spouts on his podcast.
They’re going to commit to the crazy on the record with their votes. We’ll take those votes and make sure that every primary voter knows that MAGA is working to make America worse at every turn.
When voters hear that message and contrast it with the popular and impressive work done by the Biden administration, 2024 will be an easy ballot to fill out.
The stakes are high, but MAGA continues to make our messaging work here clear. Let’s get to it. The work has already started.
