The Lincoln Project On No Labels’ Idiotic Decision
March 8, 2024 – Reed Galen, Co-founder of The Lincoln Project, released the following statement in response to No Labels’ decision to run a candidate:
“Who would’ve thought that a secretive group of delegates hand-picked by Nancy Jacobson and selected for their loyalty and secrecy would vote to spoil the Presidential election in favor of Donald Trump just? Well, everyone, frankly. Today’s decision was a foregone conclusion in a process with less transparency than Donald Trump’s finances.
“Even after years of planning and effort, No Labels will only now, deep in the Presidential campaign season, begin the official process of finding a sucker dumb enough to run on their doomed ticket. No Labels has been either lying about their intentions or just hoping not to get caught, but it’s too late.
“They can’t get one Electoral College vote, never mind 270, can’t win the Presidency, and can’t get over the reality that voters see through their false claims that Joe Biden and Donald Trump are morally and politically equivalent. They’re funded by Republicans, staffed by Republicans, and talk about President Biden like Jason Miller writes their talking points.
“We’ve said it for months: A vote for No Labels is a vote for Donald Trump. Nancy Jacobson and Mark Penn’s plan is clear: help Donald Trump win a second term. The only way to stop the disintegration of democracy is to vote to re-elect President Biden.”
The Lincoln Project is a leading pro-democracy organization in the United States — dedicated to the preservation, protection, and defense of democracy.
