3 Years After J6, The GOP Continues Weakening Democracy

January 6, 2024 – The Republican Party continues to weaken democracy three years after Trump and his MAGA followers nearly succeeded in stopping the peaceful transfer of power. The Lincoln Project is releasing video messages from co-founders Reed Galen and Rick Wilson on the anniversary of the January 6th Insurrection. 

Rick Wilson calls for the GOP ringleaders who helped Trump plan the January 6th Insurrection to be punished because a “Coup that goes unpunished is a training exercise.” January 6th was a terrorist attack on the nation, and those defending it today are falling into the same category of those who planned attacks on the Capitol – like Osama bin Laden.
