A MORE PERFECT UNION
THE LINCOLN PROJECT LAUNCHES PRO-DEMOCRACY ACTION HUB
March 21, 2022 — The Lincoln Project today launched a new tool in the fight for democracy. The Union is a collaborative effort with other pro-democracy organizations that will allow for average Americans to volunteer their skill sets and areas of interest to unite in the battle against autocracy, nationalism, and extremism.
The Union grew from the grassroots; supporters of The Lincoln Project reached out to ask how they could join the cause. Driven to contribute their specific skill sets to the broader fight, many didn’t know how or where they could volunteer with the greatest impact.
Already, the Union has added over 30 organizations, with more joining daily. Even during the soft-launch period, the Union signed up more than 44,000 motivated and talented volunteers.
The Union matches each volunteer’s different skills, interests, and connects them with specific actions, campaigns, and causes with the partner organizations.
The Union is powered by The Lincoln Project but was built and is staffed by a team of volunteers.
“The Union represents a unique opportunity for the citizens of this country to rise up and use their talents to fight against those who would threaten American democracy,” said Reed Galen, co-founder of The Lincoln Project. “We are incredibly excited to provide a pro-democracy action hub to connect organizations with volunteers and volunteers with a way to make a difference. We believe this collaboration will have a profound impact in the grassroots efforts in 2022 and beyond.”
Today’s launch included a new video to promote the effort and spotlighting why it is necessary for all Americans to join the battle for the heart of our nation now. The video can be viewed here.
